Microsoft has announced the release of a new Windows 10 Insider Preview, which brings a range of new features to Microsoft’s OS.
The Windows 10 Insider Preview comes with the Build number 10565 and as well as a range of new features there are also a range of bug and security fixes.
Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10565 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This build has quite a few new features and improvements so we’re really excited to get this one out to you for you to try out. One thing I want to call out up front is that this build and associated Language Packs won’t be available until later this week for Windows Insiders in Russia and Turkey.
New Features in Build 10565
One of the most notable new features in Build 10565 is the integration of Skype messaging, calling, and video into the Messaging, Phone, and Skype video universal Windows apps. This integration aims to streamline communication by bringing all Skype functionalities into the core Windows experience. Users can now send messages, make calls, and start video chats without needing to open the Skype app separately.
Another significant addition is the improved Cortana functionality. Cortana can now understand inked notes, which means that users can jot down reminders and Cortana will recognize and set them. This feature is particularly useful for those who prefer handwriting over typing. Additionally, Cortana can now track your leisure time activities, such as movie and event bookings, and provide reminders and updates.
Enhanced User Experience
The user experience has also been enhanced with new tab preview features in Microsoft Edge. Users can now hover over open tabs to get a preview of the webpage, making it easier to manage multiple tabs and find the content they are looking for quickly. This feature is particularly useful for users who often work with numerous tabs open simultaneously.
Moreover, the Start menu has received some tweaks. The context menus have been updated to be more consistent and visually appealing. This change aims to provide a more cohesive and intuitive user experience. The title bars for desktop apps have also been updated to support a new color scheme, allowing users to personalize their desktop environment further.
Bug Fixes and Security Improvements
In addition to new features, Build 10565 includes a range of bug fixes and security improvements. Microsoft has addressed issues related to the Start menu, Action Center, and battery life. For instance, a bug that caused the Start menu to become unresponsive has been fixed. Similarly, issues with the Action Center not displaying notifications correctly have been resolved.
