As well as announcing the launch of their new Nest Hello video doorbell for $229 and the new Nest x Yale door lock, Nest has also announced the availability of a new nest temperature sensor for $39. Designed to work in tandem with the company’s smart thermostat range, the small Nest temperature sensor is capable of keeping particular rooms in your home at the ideal temperature.
The Nest temperature sensor will be available to purchase next month during April 2018 and is available individually priced at $39 and a set of three for $99. To get the most out of your sensor you will require the latest generation Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E. Unfortunately the Nest Temperature Sensor doesn’t work with first or second generation Nest thermostats.
Up to 18 temperature sensors can be used around one home and up to six Temperature Sensors with each Nest Thermostat, Making sure that certain rooms are the exact temperature you want them to be. Once temperature sensors are positioned in different rooms you can prioritise which sensors are the most important. “Most homes aren’t the same temperature in every room. Maybe the living room gets too warm or the baby’s room is too cold. With the Nest Temperature Sensor, you can let your Nest thermostat know which room should be a certain temperature at a certain time of day.
