The new Apple TV is a lot smaller than the first generation, and obviously costs Apple quite a bit less to produce, which is why the can sell it for a much lower price of $99.

The first generation Apple TV cost about $237 in parts, whilst it seems that the new Apple TV costs about $64 in parts, according to the guys over at iSuppli.

New Apple TV The Apple TV could end up being another profitable product for Apple, as people are much more likely to purchase one with the $99 price point.
