NEC has a couple new short throw projectors that can throw images on the wall large enough for multiple folks to see from really close distances. The projectors are the M300XS and the M300WS. Both of the projectors have many of the same features with the only key difference being resolution.
Both use a 0.47:1 throw ratio and can throw viewable images from as close as 1.8-feet from the projector surface. Both have 3000 lumens of brightness making them appropriate for use in bright rooms. Lamp life is up to 5000 hours.
The projectors have 10W speakers for presentations and a USB viewer that allows the showing of images and other content without a computer. Connectivity includes dual computer inputs and HDMI. The difference between the two is that the M300XS is an XGA resolution unit, the M300WS is a WXGA resolution unit. They sell for $999 and $1099 respectively with both shipping this month.
