Motorola has scheduled an event on Thursday where the company is expected to showcase a number of new products, including the Moto X+1, Moto G2 and the Moto 360 smartwatch.
According to a logistics tracking website Zauba, Motorola has imported almost 70,000 Moto G2 units in India, suggesting the alleged handset may go on sale in India in the coming days.
The Zauba results shows the device being listed as Motorola Moto G, but it’s not the current variant of the handset, but the upcoming Moto G2. The device listed on Zauba carries a XT1068 model, which has been associated with the Moto G as per various leaks and rumors. The listing further mentions the price tag of Rs. 10,640, but it’s not the retail price for the handset. It will be a little higher when it’s officially announced, but it should come with a similar price tag as the Moto G.
Surprisingly, the import records on Zauba only lists the 16GB variant of the alleged handset so there’s a chance that Motorola may not offer the 8GB variant. Additionally, the handsets come in two color options: black and white.
Rumors suggest the Moto G2 will come with a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera and should run Android 4.4.4 KitKat as its operating system.
Stay tuned, we’ll update you as soon as Motorola announces the handset later this week.
