Mosoro has this week taken the wraps of kits new compact Bluetooth LE module sensors, in the form of the 3D-Motion, Enviro, and Proximity, together with an SDK for developers.
The range of sensors have been created to provide developers with the tools and software to incorporate the sensors into iOS apps and easily create Bluetooth LE app-enabled accessories.
Starting with the Mosoro 3D-Motion, this sensor is a miniature motion capture Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which provides developers with an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, that can be connected to applications via Bluetooth LE wireless technology.
The Mosoro Enviro sensor is a miniature environmental capture device that allows a user to see their actual local weather displayed on their smartphone, and is capable of measuring temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. Finally the Mosoro Proximity is a miniature proximity and motion detection device which can be attached to physical objects or used as a stand alone proximity “trigger”.
All three sensors measure 38mm x 18.5mm x 12.5mm in size and are equipped with a rechargeable lithium polymer battery, that can be recharged via micro USB. To save power they are also fitted with “shake-to-wake” power support, as well as a glow-cap” for colour notifications if required.
Unfortunately no information on pricing has been released as yet, but the sensors are expected to arrive in stores during the fall of 2012.
