Mojang has announced that Minecraft for the Mac and PC has hit a massive 11 million sales, their website is showing that a total of 11,008,761 copies of the game have been sold for the Mac and PC.
Back in April Minecraft had sold 10 million copies of Minecraft for the PC and Mac, the PC version of the game was launched as a full version back in November of 2011.
So it has taken Mojang just over 18 months to hit the massive 11 million sales milestone. Last year Mojang also launched an Xbox and Pocket Edition of Minecraft for mobile devices which has also been popular.
The developers of Minecraft are also working on a new version of the game for Microsoft’s new Xbox One console, the game is expected to be released later in the year.
