Microsoft’s Cortana is currently only available on their Windows Phone platform, the digital assistant is actually built into Windows Phone and now it looks like Microsoft will launch the software on other platforms.
According to a recent report Microsoft has plans to launch Cortana on apple’s iOS platform and Google’s Android platform.
Microsoft previously announced plans to launch Cortana outside of Windows Phone, the digital assistant is headed to the desktop later in the year in Windows 10.
According to a recent report by Reuters, Microsoft is working on a stand alone version of Cortana that will be available to download on the iPhone, iPad and smartphones and tablets running Google’s Android platform.
Apple and Google already have their own digital assistants, Apple has Siri and Google has Google Now and Microsoft is looking to expand their service to other platforms outside of Windows Phone.
Of course this has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, as soon as we get some more details on when Cortana is headed to iOS and Android, we will let you guys know.
