Microsoft has scheduled an event on October 6th where the company is rumored to launch a number of new Windows 10 Mobile handsets.
Ahead of the press event, the company accidentally listed both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL on the company’s online store, revealing some of the specifications the handset is expected to offer.
Specifications and Features
The price is not listed at the moment, but both devices will ship with Windows 10 Mobile out of the box, and will come with support for microSD cards up to 2TB as well as a 20MP camera for photos and videos. The Lumia 950 XL will come with a 5.7-inch WQHD display while the Lumia 950 will boast a 5.2-inch WQHD display.
In addition to these features, both handsets are expected to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, with the Lumia 950 XL likely featuring the Snapdragon 810 and the Lumia 950 possibly equipped with the Snapdragon 808. These powerful processors will ensure smooth performance and efficient multitasking capabilities. Furthermore, both devices are rumored to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps, media, and other data.
Additional Anticipated Announcements
Most of these specifications were already known before as well so it’s nothing new except confirming that Microsoft is gearing up to launch the two new handsets at the big event next week. It’s not just the new handsets; the Redmond-based company is also expected to launch the Surface Pro 4 as well as the Microsoft Band.
The Surface Pro 4 is anticipated to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with rumors suggesting a larger display, improved resolution, and enhanced performance. It is also expected to feature the latest Intel processors, which will provide better energy efficiency and faster processing speeds. Additionally, the Surface Pro 4 may come with a refined design, possibly including a thinner and lighter form factor, making it even more portable and user-friendly.
The Microsoft Band, on the other hand, is expected to see improvements in its fitness tracking capabilities, battery life, and overall design. The new iteration of the Band may include additional sensors for more accurate health monitoring, as well as a more comfortable and durable build. These enhancements will likely make the Microsoft Band a more competitive option in the wearable technology market.
As the event approaches, excitement continues to build around the potential announcements and product launches. The accidental listing of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL has only added to the anticipation, giving consumers a glimpse of what to expect from Microsoft’s latest mobile offerings. With the inclusion of high-end specifications and the latest Windows 10 Mobile operating system, these devices are poised to make a significant impact in the smartphone market.
In addition to the new handsets, the expected launch of the Surface Pro 4 and the updated Microsoft Band further demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to innovation and excellence across its product lineup.
