An article that has been published this week and since been removed from the Fortune website, that reveals Microsoft could be planning to launch its new Microsoft HoloLens Development Edition hardware on March 30th, 2016, with preorders starting as early as this month from February 29th onwards.
The report was leaked and quickly removed but not before t was copied and reposted in its entirety via the Reddit website by user ‘Shooob’. Apparently the news was unfortunately leaked early from an embargoed press release Fortune had received.
The article also revealed that Microsoft is planning to launch ActionGram its holographic storytelling medium during the summer months of this year, which was also leaked early this year. Kudo Tsunoda, corporate vice president at Microsoft is quoted in the Forbes article explaining more about Skype :
This type of communication has enormous potential in both the consumer and business world. It will allow developers to communicate with each other using the holographic medium to share development methods and seek the advice of others. With Skype, you can see the holograms the other person is seeing and you can use holograms to illustrate helpful techniques or development approaches. It is our hope that the holographic development community will be just that—a community.
As soon as more information is made available regarding a release date and pre-order date for the new Microsoft HoloLens Development Edition hardware we will keep you updated as always. In the meantime jump over to the Reddit website to read the full leaked article from Fortune.
