According to a recent report by research firm strategy analytics, Microsoft’s Windows Phone became the third most popular smartphone platform in the US in the fourth quarter of 2012, and apparently took the third place from BlackBerry.
According to our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) service, Microsoft Windows Phone overtook BlackBerry OS to become the third largest smartphone platform in the influential United States market during Q4 2012.
This is the first time Microsoft has been ahead of BlackBerry since back in 2006, it will be interesting to see what the situation is like in a few months, considering that RIM just released BlackBerry 10.
