Makerbot the manufacturer of the awesome Makerbot Replicator range of 3D printers has this week released a new update for their MakerBot Thingiverse iOS app which brings with it a number of new features and enhancements for users to enjoy.
The latest 1.1 MakerBot Thingiverse update includes new features that now allow you to add photos to Thing designs or MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner scans posted to Thingiverse.
As well as allowing you to browse your own collections and favourites in your profile, or collections in all user profiles and also view and respond to comments on Thing detail pages directly from your own iOS smartphone.
“MakerBot’s Thingiverse is a thriving design community for discovering, making, and sharing 3D printable things. As the world’s largest 3D printing community, we believe that everyone should be encouraged to create and remix 3D things, no matter their technical expertise or previous experience. In the spirit of maintaining an open platform, all designs are encouraged to be licensed under a Creative Commons license, meaning that anyone can use or alter any design.”
Another useful feature which has been added in the latest MakerBot 1.1 Thingiverse iOS App update include the ability to receive push notifications when new designs are published to Thingiverse, or when a MakerBot Digitizer scans are published.
