We previously heard a rumor that the new LG G5 would come with Iris recognition technology and now we have some more information on the handset.
The LG G4 came with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 processor instead of the Snapdragon 810 due to reported overheating issues with the 810. LG has plans to return to Qualcomm’s flagship processor for the G5.
Processor and Performance
According to a recent report, the new LG G5 will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. This is a significant upgrade from the Snapdragon 808, promising better performance and efficiency. The Snapdragon 820 is designed to handle more intensive tasks and provide a smoother user experience. This processor is also expected to appear in the new Samsung Galaxy S7. The Snapdragon 820 features a new Kryo CPU architecture, which is expected to deliver up to twice the performance and efficiency compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the Adreno 530 GPU will enhance graphics performance, making the G5 a strong contender for gaming and multimedia applications.
Camera and Imaging
The main camera on the new LG G5 will also get an update. The LG G4 comes with a 16-megapixel camera, but LG has apparently chosen to use a 20-megapixel camera with a custom 1/2 inch Sony sensor on the G5. This upgrade is expected to significantly improve photo quality, especially in low-light conditions. The camera will also incorporate LG’s Laser Auto Focus, which allows for faster and more accurate focusing, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which helps reduce blur in photos and videos. These features combined will make the LG G5’s camera one of the best in its class, appealing to photography enthusiasts and casual users alike.
In addition to the hardware improvements, LG is likely to introduce new software features to enhance the camera experience. This could include advanced manual controls, improved HDR capabilities, and new shooting modes. The front-facing camera is also expected to see an upgrade, possibly featuring a higher resolution sensor and wide-angle lens for better selfies and video calls.
Additional Features and Launch Date
As yet, there are no details on when the G5 will launch, although we are not expecting the handset to launch until 2016. The inclusion of Iris recognition technology is another exciting feature that could set the LG G5 apart from its competitors. This technology uses the unique patterns in a person’s iris to unlock the phone, providing a higher level of security compared to traditional fingerprint sensors. It is also faster and more convenient, as users can unlock their phones simply by looking at them.
Other rumored features include a larger battery for extended usage, improved display technology for better color accuracy and brightness, and enhanced audio capabilities for a superior listening experience. The LG G5 is also expected to run on the latest version of Android, with LG’s custom user interface layered on top.
As soon as we get some more information about the device, we will let you guys know. The LG G5 is shaping up to be a powerful and feature-rich smartphone that could give other flagship devices a run for their money. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch.
