Lenovo has unveiled their new ThinkCentre M92p mini PC this week, which has been designed to replace bulky business desktops. The ThinkCentre M92p can be equipped with 3rd Generation Intel Core Processor’s with optional Intel vPro technology, with integrated graphics and WiFi.

Supported by either solid state disks or traditional hard disk drives for storage, and boast 15 second boot up times. Tom Shell, vice president and general manager, Commercial Desktop Business Unit, Lenovo explains:
“ThinkCentre desktops are evolving to fit the needs of today’s professional users, offering uncompromised desktop power in a very innovative, space and energy efficient form factor,” “We designed the tiny form factor so that businesses can enjoy outstanding performance and manageability regardless of the size of their workspace.”
Innovative Features and Performance
The ThinkCentre M92p mini PC is not just about compact size; it’s packed with features that make it a powerful tool for business environments. The inclusion of 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors ensures that users can handle demanding applications with ease. The optional Intel vPro technology adds an extra layer of security and manageability, making it an ideal choice for IT departments that need to manage multiple devices remotely.
Integrated graphics provide sufficient power for most business applications, and the inclusion of WiFi means that the M92p can be placed anywhere within the office without worrying about network cables. This flexibility is particularly useful in modern office environments where space is at a premium.
Storage Options and Boot Times
When it comes to storage, the ThinkCentre M92p offers both solid state disks (SSD) and traditional hard disk drives (HDD). SSDs are known for their speed and reliability, significantly reducing boot times and improving overall system responsiveness. The M92p boasts an impressive 15-second boot-up time, which can greatly enhance productivity by reducing the time employees spend waiting for their computers to start.
Traditional HDDs, on the other hand, offer larger storage capacities at a lower cost, making them suitable for businesses that need to store large amounts of data without breaking the bank. The flexibility to choose between SSD and HDD allows businesses to tailor their storage solutions to their specific needs.
Energy Efficiency and Space Saving
One of the standout features of the ThinkCentre M92p is its energy efficiency. Designed to consume less power than traditional desktops, the M92p helps businesses reduce their energy bills and minimize their environmental footprint. This is particularly important for companies looking to implement green initiatives and reduce their carbon footprint.
The compact form factor of the M92p also means that it takes up significantly less space than traditional desktops. This can be a game-changer for businesses operating in small offices or co-working spaces where every square foot counts. The ability to mount the M92p behind a monitor or under a desk further enhances its space-saving capabilities.
Pricing and Availability
The new range of ThinkCentre M72e and M92p mini desktop PCs, with pricing starting from $499 and $799 respectively, will be available to purchase from June 2012 onwards. This competitive pricing makes the M92p an attractive option for businesses of all sizes, from small startups to large enterprises.
The Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p mini PC offers a compelling combination of performance, manageability, and space-saving design. Its innovative features and energy efficiency make it a smart choice for modern businesses looking to upgrade their desktop infrastructure.
