Lenovo has revealed their N308 at CES this year, the company’s first Android computer. It’ll come running Android 4.2 at launch on a 19.5” HD+ screen with either a 320GB or 500GB hard drive, depends on the model you decide to go with, and 2GB of DDR3 memory. It also has 2 USB ports, a LAN jack, 6-in-1 card reader, and the standard microphone and headphone jacks.
The N308 also comes with a full-sized wireless keyboard and mouse, all for the low price of $450.
I’m not quite sure why someone would want a full-sized Android computer. It’s just a laptop with Android 4.2 on it in my mind. It’s essentially just a bigger sized tablet! How is this preferable to using your phone or a laptop? Many of the apps on Android have full versioned programs or are accessible through the company’s website. Do you really need a 19.5” screen to play Candy Crush?
No doubt someone with a ridiculous amount of money laying around will find some use for it. Actually it’s not that much more than a tablet (less in some instances), so maybe some people will simply buy it over a tablet.
What do you think of an Android computer?
