Gamers in the market for a new gaming mouse might be interested to know that SteelSeries has this month launched a new gaming mouse building on the technology of their original Rival.
The latest SteelSeries Rival gaming mouse now allows owners to customise and personalise the design of their mouse by printing their own name 3D printed plate that can be swapped out on the back of the mouse using their own printer or services such as Shapeways and similar.
Further customisations can be carried to the mouse functions and features out using the accompanying SteelSeries’ Engine 3 software that provides access to 16.8 million colour illumination options. SteelSeries’ CEO, Bruce Hawver, explains a little more:
“The new ergonomic shape and state of the art hardware deliver unmatched levels of precision, comfort and durability. Combining this level of hardware with new SteelSeries Engine 3 software, users will find an entirely new customization experience that redefines how a mouse can be configured.”
Earlier this month SteelSeries was offering 3D printed name plates for the Rival, at PAX Australia in Melbourne. For more information on the new Rival 3D printable gaming mouse jump over to the SteelSeries website for more details and full specifications.
