LaCie has this week launched a couple of new additions to its External USB 3.0 storage range in the form of the 2big and 4big Quadra multi-bay RAID solutions.
Lacie has created their new 2big Quadra USB 3.0 and LaCie 4big Quadra USB 3.0 to provide performance storage for use with the latest Apple Mac systems.
The storage is equipped with UAS (USB-Attached SCSI Protocol) compatibility and 7200rpm hard drives, that provide speeds up to 210MB/s and 245MB/s respectively, and which can transfer 10GB of data in less than one minute, twice as fast as Firewire 800.
“The LaCie 4big Quadra is the most complete 4-bay RAID solution for professionals who demand exceptional performance from a storage device. Offering up to 12TB of capacity and amazing bandwidth speeds through eSATA 3Gb/s and FireWire 800, it also features FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 ports for maximum compatibility with any Mac® or PC. Featuring seven RAID modes to customize performance and data protection levels, the 4big Quadra fits most speed-demanding applications and backup needs for today’s workstations and small servers.”
The external storage will be arriving in stores next month and the LaCie 2big Quadra is available in 4TB or 6TB capacities starting at $499, with the LaCie 4big Quadra available in 8TB or 12TB capacities from$1,099.
