To aid business and help them keep control over their tablets and mobile devices Intel is looking to develop features that can bring those devices under the companies control by implementing remote management and security capabilities in hardware and software.
Intel is looking to include features found in its VPro platform so businesses can remotely protect data and support mobile devices such as tablets. The Intel VPro platform currently combines hardware and software to manage and secure PCs and low end servers through wired and wireless networks.
Device wiping systems are already available for some mobile devices and tablet, but Intel’s new system is hoping to disable the device remotely but keep the data intact.
Lisa Watts, director of ecosystem development for Intel’s business client platform division explains:
“We’re trying to make that balance between security of the data and the device itself, and ‘Can I have a happy medium there where I don’t have to lose all that information.’ I think you’ll see that when we get down the line,”
