Huawei has sent out press invites for its press event on October 16th in Munich, Germany where the company is expected to introduce the Mate 10 phablet.
We’ve heard a little bit about the handset, and the previous rumors also hinted that it will be launched sometime in October carrying a price tag of around $1,000 so it could very well be Huawei Mate 10.
The invite doesn’t give us too many details about the device and comes with a tagline “Meet the device worth waiting for”. Additionally, there’s a stretched out “10” written on the invite hinting at the possible launch of the much awaited Huawei Mate 10.
Expected Specifications and Features
Rumors suggest that the device will come with a 6.1-inch display sporting a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels resolution, Kirin 970 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This combination of hardware is expected to deliver a seamless and powerful user experience, making it a strong competitor in the high-end smartphone market.
The Kirin 970 processor is particularly noteworthy as it is Huawei’s first chipset to feature a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This NPU is designed to handle AI-related tasks more efficiently, which could translate to improved performance in applications such as image recognition, voice commands, and other AI-driven functionalities.
Camera and Battery Life
In addition to its impressive processing power, the Mate 10 is rumored to feature a dual-camera setup on the back, similar to its predecessor, the Mate 9. This setup is expected to include a 20MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP RGB sensor, both co-engineered with Leica. This combination should provide excellent photo quality, with enhanced detail and color accuracy.
Battery life is another area where the Mate 10 is expected to excel. Rumors indicate that the device will come with a 4,000mAh battery, which should provide ample power to get through a full day of heavy usage. Additionally, Huawei’s SuperCharge technology is expected to be included, allowing for rapid charging times.
Software and Additional Features
On the software front, the Mate 10 is expected to run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, with Huawei’s EMUI 6.0 skin on top. This combination should offer a smooth and customizable user experience, with a range of features and optimizations designed to enhance productivity and usability.
Other rumored features include an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which would make the Mate 10 more durable and suitable for use in a variety of environments. Additionally, the device is expected to include a fingerprint sensor for added security, as well as support for facial recognition technology.
