HTC has added another new smartphone to their One range, although this one is headed to China only, the HTC One SC, which comes with a 4.3 inch WVGA touchscreen display and a dual core 1GHz processor.
The HTC One SC will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4, it features 4GB of built-in storage and an 8.85mm thick body. There is also 1GB of RAM and a 5 megapixel camera.
Design and Build Quality
The HTC One SC boasts a unique and eye-catching design that sets it apart from other smartphones in the market. The device features an asymmetric design, which is quite unusual for mid-range smartphones. This design choice not only makes the phone stand out aesthetically but also provides a comfortable grip, making it easier to hold and use with one hand. The 8.85mm thickness ensures that the phone is slim and sleek, fitting easily into pockets and bags.
The build quality of the HTC One SC is robust, with a solid construction that feels premium despite its mid-range positioning. The materials used in the phone’s construction are of high quality, ensuring durability and longevity. The 4.3 inch WVGA touchscreen display offers vibrant colors and sharp visuals, making it ideal for watching videos, browsing the web, and playing games.
Performance and Features
Under the hood, the HTC One SC is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor, which provides smooth and responsive performance for everyday tasks. Whether you’re browsing the internet, checking emails, or using social media apps, the phone handles it all with ease. The 1GB of RAM ensures that multitasking is efficient, allowing you to switch between apps without any noticeable lag.
The HTC One SC runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which, although not the latest version of Android, still offers a user-friendly experience with a range of features and customization options. HTC Sense 4, the company’s custom user interface, adds additional functionality and a unique look to the Android operating system. Users can enjoy features like customizable home screens, a variety of widgets, and an intuitive app drawer.
The phone comes with 4GB of built-in storage, which may seem limited by today’s standards, but it is sufficient for storing essential apps, photos, and music. For users who need more storage, the HTC One SC supports expandable storage via a microSD card slot, allowing you to add up to 32GB of additional space.
The 5 megapixel camera on the HTC One SC is capable of capturing decent photos and videos. While it may not compete with the high-end cameras found on flagship smartphones, it is more than adequate for casual photography and social media sharing. The camera app offers various shooting modes and settings, allowing users to experiment with different styles and effects.
There are no details as yet on whether the HTC One SC will be available outside of China, we may have some more details on the 19th of September after HTC’s press event. The phone’s unique design and solid performance make it an attractive option for consumers looking for a mid-range smartphone with a bit of flair.
The HTC One SC is a well-rounded smartphone that offers a good balance of design, performance, and features. Its unique asymmetric design, solid build quality, and responsive performance make it a standout choice in the mid-range smartphone market. While it is currently only available in China, it would be interesting to see if HTC decides to launch this model in other markets in the future.
