What’s New in Android 6.0 Marshmallow?
Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings a host of new features and improvements to the HTC One M9. One of the most notable additions is the new app permissions model, which gives users more control over the permissions that apps request. Instead of granting all permissions at once during installation, users can now approve or deny permissions individually as needed.
Another significant feature is Doze Mode, which helps to extend battery life by putting the device into a deeper sleep state when it’s not being used. This can significantly reduce battery drain during periods of inactivity.
Additionally, Marshmallow introduces Google Now on Tap, a feature that provides contextual information and actions based on the content currently displayed on the screen. For example, if you’re reading an article about a movie, you can long-press the home button to get more information about the movie, including reviews, showtimes, and more.
Carrier-Specific Rollout
There are no details on which mobile carriers will be releasing the update, as soon as we get some more details we will let you guys know. Carrier-specific rollouts can sometimes be delayed due to the additional testing and customization that carriers may perform. This means that even if the update is available for unlocked devices, it might take a bit longer for carrier-locked devices to receive it.
If you receive the Android Marshmallow update on your One M9 smartphone in the UK, leave a comment below and let us know. Sharing your experience can help other users know what to expect and whether they should be on the lookout for the update.
How to Check for the Update
If you haven’t received a notification for the update yet, you can manually check for it by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. If the update is available for your device, you’ll be prompted to download and install it. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery life before starting the update process.
Community Feedback
The rollout of Android Marshmallow has been eagerly anticipated by HTC One M9 users, and early feedback has been positive. Users have reported smoother performance, improved battery life, and a more intuitive user experience. However, as with any major software update, there may be some initial bugs or issues that need to be addressed in subsequent patches.
If you encounter any problems after updating, HTC’s support forums and customer service are good resources for troubleshooting and finding solutions. Additionally, sharing your experiences in the comments section below can help build a community of users who can support each other through the update process.
