HTC has released its latest financial results (PDF), the figures cover the company’s fiscal second quarter of 2014 when ended on the 30th of June 2014, and it looks like the HTC One M8 may have helped the company.
HTC had made a profit for the first time in a year, and much of this can be attributed to sales of the company’s flagship smartphone, the HTC One M8.
HTC had quarterly revenue of NT$65 billion which is about $2.17 billion U.S. dollars, and the company made a net profit of NT$ 2.26 billion, which is about $75 million U.S. dollars.
This is good news for HTC, the company has had success with their new HTC One M8, mainly because of the design of the handset and its specifications, it has become a popular device amongst smartphone fans.
HTC also implemented a range of cost cutting measures which have also helped them to return to the black, it will be interesting to see if they can keep it up in the next quarter and through the end of the year.
HTC have been concentrating on releasing less devices, which are higher quality devices, than they did in the past, at one point a couple of years ago, the company was announcing new smartphones all the time, this led to consumer confusion and lower sales.
