HTC’s successor to the HTC One M9 could come with a new name, according to a recent report, the HTC One M10 will launch as the HTC O2.
We previously heard a rumor that the new HTC One M10 would come with wireless charging and it looks like the device will use the next generation Snapdragon processor, the Snapdragon 820.
Rumored Specifications and Features
Other rumored specifications on the HTC One M10 or HTC O2 include a 6-inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. This high-resolution display is expected to offer vibrant colors and sharp images, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming. The handset is also rumored to come with 4GB of RAM, which should provide smooth multitasking and efficient performance for demanding applications.
In terms of storage, the HTC O2 is expected to offer a choice of options, including 64GB and 128GB. This ample storage capacity will allow users to store a significant amount of data, including photos, videos, and apps, without worrying about running out of space. Additionally, the device will apparently come with a 3500 mAh battery, which should provide a decent amount of usage time on a single charge.
Launch Date and Additional Variants
According to a recent report, the device could launch in October, although we are not sure how accurate this is, as the Snapdragon 820 processor isn’t expected to launch until next year. This discrepancy raises questions about the actual release date of the HTC O2. However, if the device does launch in October, it would be one of the first smartphones to feature the new Snapdragon 820 processor, potentially giving it a performance edge over competitors.
HTC also has another version of the HTC O2 planned, with a smaller display of 5 inches. This smaller variant could appeal to users who prefer more compact devices that are easier to handle and fit in pockets. The 5-inch version is expected to retain many of the same high-end features as its larger counterpart, including the Quad HD resolution and ample RAM.
In addition to these hardware specifications, the HTC O2 is likely to come with the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI, which offers a range of customization options and features designed to enhance the user experience. The device may also include advanced camera technology, building on HTC’s reputation for producing smartphones with excellent camera capabilities.
As soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know. The anticipation surrounding the HTC O2 suggests that it could be a significant release for HTC, potentially helping the company regain its footing in the highly competitive smartphone market.
