HTC has taken the wraps off their latest smartphone, the HTC Butterfly 2, we have been hearing rumors about the handset for some time, and now we have all the details on this new Android smartphone from HTC.
The HTC Butterfly 2 is equipped with a 5 inch full high definition display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the handset is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, and it also features 2GB of RAM.
For storage you get a choice of either 16GB or 32gB of included storage, this can be expanded by a further 128GB via the microSD card slot, the device also features front and rear facing cameras.
On the back of the HTC Butterfly 2 is a 13 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor and an f/2.0, 28mm lens, on the front there is a 5 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor, both cameras can record full HD video in 1080p.
“Our consumers always pursue perfection. Therefore, we chose the partner that we know will offer the best smartphones in the market,” said Takashi Tanaka, President, KDDI. “Since the HTC J series was released, it has become the most popular phone in our product portfolio.”
“HTC Butterfly 2 follows HTC’s iconic design and globally acclaimed user experience,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC. “Its elegant appearance and fantastic performance will certainly provide consumers with the best experience ever.”
Other specifications on the handset include HTC Boom Sound, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and DLNA. The handset will go on sale in Asia in September, and it will launch in Taiwan on the 2nd of September, and is then headed to Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, as yet there are no details on pricing.
