As the tired old saying/meme goes, necessity is the mother of invention. The necessity in this particular scenario was a dire need for a foot stool. The mothering of course involved a very unique build that isn’t as hard core as some may presume. It’s design based on a 555 timer chip, the foot stool has proven itself durable enough to withstand the pressure of the heaviest feet around.
The build started with plywood in great quantities, sliced and shaped accordingly. Held fast by rods, copious amounts of glue were then used to hold the piece together. The last bit involved a straightforward paint job and the finished product is a welcome addition in any geek household.
The finished product is a 30 times larger model of a 555 timer chip and is quite the accurate rendering. No word yet if other chips will receive the same treatment when the situation calls for a larger build. Who knows, the guys who built this might need an extra table sometime.
