By Harry Potter I mean the world, not the character. J.K. Rowling, the original writer of Harry Potter is writing a new movie series set 70 years before the events of the original series. Other than being set in the same world, the events in the new movies will not be related to the old ones.
The new series is going to follow Newt Scamander, the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Avid fans of the books or super Harry Potter movie buffs will likely note that the title is a textbook Harry bought in the original series. The book title will also serve as the first movie title.
After reading the first book back when I was a kid, I wasn’t a fan. I stayed that way through the whole era, avoiding the topic of Harry Potter whenever possible. Then I ended up living with someone who loved it and watched all the movies practically back to back.
What really caught my attention was how well the characters progressed and evolved over the course of the series. You could tell J.K. Rowling was getting better as a writer.
Anyway, I’m happy to hear this bit of news. How about you?
