Google has rolled out a new update to its Google Wallet application today, refreshing the apps user interface, together with the obligatory performance enhancements and bug fixes.
Google has redesigned the Google Wallet app to now follow the holo UI guidelines, positioning its navigation tabs along the top of the application and an overflow settings button to hold all extra functions within easy reach.
Google also explains that its made “improvements to the user interface, application stability, and battery life.” however full details on what its exactly done to these other areas has not been reported by Google.
“Google Wallet holds your credit and debit cards, offers, and rewards cards. With this latest release, you can use any card from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover in conjunction with the app.
To pay in-store, select the card you want to use, and then just tap your phone to any contactless point of sale terminal. Payment information is transmitted via near field communication (NFC). Shortly after you’ll see a transaction record with merchant name and dollar amount on your phone.
Google Wallet keeps you safe and secure. The app has its own PIN, and if you lose your phone, you can remotely disable your mobile wallet from the Wallet homepage.”
The latest Google Wallet application is now available to download from the Google Play online store
