We have been hearing rumors about the Google Nexus 8 for some time now, this new tablet is rumored to be made by Asus for Google.
Asus currently make the Google Nexus 7 tablet, and this new 8 inch Android tablet from Google may end up launching some time in April.
The news comes from a Digitimes report, who have said that the Nexus 8 is expected to launch in April, as sale of the Nexus 7 have fallen short of Google’s expectations.
However, sales performance for the second-generation Nexus 7 have been short of expectations mainly due to intense price competition in the 7-inch segment, with cumulative sales of fewer than three million units as of the end of 2013, the sources noted.
Therefore, Google has selected 8-inch as the size of the third-generation Nexus 7 to avoid price competition and competition from 5- to 6-inch smartphones, the sources indicated. Google is very likely to continue co-brand cooperation with Asustek for the 8-inch tablet, the sources added.
As yet we do not have any actual specifications on the new Google Nexus 78 tablet, apart from the 8 inch display as soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.
