UK mobile carrier Three has announced that they will be offering the new Google Nexus 4 on their network in the UK from the 13th of December. The device will be available on their monthly contracts and also on pay as you go.
Three will be offering the Google Nexus 4 for £29 up front on their £35 per month One Plan, and they will also offer the handset on their pay as you go contracts for £399.99, which is more expensive than you can buy the device direct from Google on their Google Play Store.
Google offers the Nexus 4 direct from their Google Play Store with prices starting at £239 for the 8GB model and £279 for the 16GB model, although both devices are currently sold out at the moment.
Features and Specifications
The Google Nexus 4 comes with the latest version of Google’s Mobile OS, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The device features a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and 320ppi, providing a crisp and clear viewing experience. This high-resolution display is ideal for watching videos, browsing the web, and playing games.
Processing is provided by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, ensuring smooth performance and quick response times. It also features 2GB of RAM, which allows for efficient multitasking and running multiple apps simultaneously without any lag. Users can choose between 8GB or 16GB of storage, although it is important to note that the device does not support expandable storage via microSD cards.
The Nexus 4 is equipped with a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera, which is suitable for video calls and selfies. The rear-facing 8 megapixel camera is capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos. The camera app includes features such as panorama mode, HDR, and photo sphere, which allows users to take 360-degree photos.
Connectivity and Additional Features
In terms of connectivity, the Nexus 4 supports a wide range of options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and HSPA+. This ensures that users can stay connected to the internet and other devices with ease. The device also includes a built-in GPS, which is useful for navigation and location-based services.
One of the standout features of the Nexus 4 is its design. The device has a sleek and modern look, with a glass back that gives it a premium feel. The build quality is solid, and the device feels sturdy in hand. The Nexus 4 also includes wireless charging capabilities, allowing users to charge their device without the need for cables.
Battery life is another important aspect to consider. The Nexus 4 is equipped with a 2100mAh battery, which provides a decent amount of usage time. However, heavy users may find themselves needing to charge the device more frequently.
Overall, the Google Nexus 4 offers a great combination of features, performance, and design. While it may be more expensive to purchase through Three compared to the Google Play Store, the availability of monthly contracts and pay as you go options provides flexibility for different types of users.
