Fujitsu has shown off a new Windows 8 tablet, and whilst the details on the exact specifications are scarce, the guys from the Verge did get to check it out briefly and it looks to be Fujitsu’s first Intel Clover Trail Windows 8 Tablet.
The Fujitsu tablet measures just 8.5mm thick and weighs in at just 1.5 pounds, and is reported to feature a 10 inch touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and it features a microSD card slot, microUSB and a 10 pin charging port.
Design and Build Quality
The design of the Fujitsu Windows 8 tablet is sleek and modern, with a slim profile that makes it highly portable. At just 8.5mm thick, it is one of the thinnest tablets in its category, making it easy to carry around whether you’re commuting, traveling, or just moving from room to room. The weight of 1.5 pounds ensures that it is light enough to hold comfortably for extended periods, which is ideal for reading, browsing, or watching videos.
The 10-inch touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio is perfect for media consumption, providing a wide and immersive viewing experience. The screen is expected to offer vibrant colors and sharp details, making it suitable for both work and play. The inclusion of a microSD card slot allows for expandable storage, which is a significant advantage for users who need extra space for their files, photos, and videos. The microUSB port ensures compatibility with a wide range of peripherals and accessories, while the 10-pin charging port is designed for quick and efficient charging.
Performance and Features
While specific details about the internal hardware are still under wraps, the use of Intel’s Clover Trail processor suggests that the Fujitsu tablet will offer robust performance. Clover Trail is known for its energy efficiency and ability to handle multitasking with ease, which means users can expect smooth and responsive performance whether they are browsing the web, streaming videos, or running productivity apps.
The tablet is expected to run Windows 8, which brings a host of new features and improvements over previous versions of the operating system. Windows 8 is designed with touchscreens in mind, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. The Start Screen with live tiles provides quick access to apps and information, while the ability to run multiple apps side by side enhances productivity.
Fujitsu will be officially announcing their new Windows 8 based tablet on the 19th of October, so we should have full specifications on the device then. In the meantime, head over to The Verge at the link below for more photos of this new Windows 8 tablet from Fujitsu.
