Square Enix and NVIDIA have today confirmed that Final Fantasy 15 will be definitely launching on PC and will be arriving on the platform sometime early in 2018.
The news of the launch was announced during NVIDIA’s press conference at this year’s Gamescom event which is currently underway. NVIDIA also revealed that the PC version of Final Fantasy 15 will include all the content from the console version, which was included in free updates and the Season Pass.
Enhanced Features for PC
The PC version of Final Fantasy 15 is set to offer a range of enhanced features that will take advantage of the powerful hardware available to PC gamers. These enhancements include:
• 4K high-resolution textures
• Dolby Atmos
• Realistic grass simulation
• Advanced hair simulation
• Combustible fire, smoke, and fluid simulation
• Advanced shadow algorithms
• High-quality ambient occlusion
• Versatile screenshot captures
• First-person camera mode
These features are designed to provide a more immersive and visually stunning experience for players. The inclusion of 4K textures means that the game will look incredibly detailed, with sharp and clear visuals that take full advantage of high-resolution monitors. Dolby Atmos support will offer a more immersive audio experience, allowing players to hear sounds from all around them in a three-dimensional space.
Technical Advancements
The realistic grass and advanced hair simulations are particularly noteworthy, as they demonstrate the game’s commitment to creating a lifelike environment. The grass will sway and move realistically in response to the characters’ movements and the wind, while the advanced hair simulation will ensure that characters’ hair moves naturally and looks realistic.
The combustible fire, smoke, and fluid simulations will add another layer of realism to the game. Fire will spread and behave realistically, smoke will billow and disperse naturally, and fluids will flow and react to the environment in a believable manner. These effects will make the game’s world feel more dynamic and alive.
Advanced shadow algorithms and high-quality ambient occlusion will enhance the game’s lighting and shadows, making them more realistic and adding depth to the scenes. This will help to create a more immersive and visually appealing experience.
The versatile screenshot capture feature will allow players to take high-quality screenshots of their gameplay, which they can then share with friends or use as desktop backgrounds. This feature is particularly useful for players who enjoy capturing and sharing their gaming experiences.
The first-person camera mode is another exciting addition, as it will allow players to experience the game from a new perspective. This mode will provide a more immersive experience, as players will be able to see the world through the eyes of the characters.
