For those of you who’re using Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system, you should have a pretty good idea that it lacks a File Manager. But, it seems things might change in the near future. Some users at Microsoft’s UserVoice site for Windows Phone requested a File Manager for the OS, which got a positive response from an Admin mentioning that the “feature is now available in Windows Phone 8.” So, we’re just assuming that it will be launched for the OS very soon.
This feature is now available in Windows Phone 8.
And as always, if you think this feature or any other feature needs improvement be sure to create new product suggestions so we can track them all and other users can vote on your ideas. And while we can’t promise to ship every suggestion that gets submitted, we will be sure that our product development team receives your feedback. We’re always listening!
It should be interesting to see how the folks at Microsoft will implement this feature. There’s a possibility that this feature could be pushed to devices as an OS update or maybe a standalone application.Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update, along with Lumia Black for Nokia phones, is expected to roll out from January for various devices and it could launch with the update. If not, we’re expecting it to make an appearance with the launch of Windows Phone 8.1 or GDR4 update.
We’re hoping that Microsoft will shed some light on this in the coming weeks. What do you people think?
