Fez is coming to platforms other than the rapidly sinking into irrelevance XBLA, according to its co-creator and public face, Phil Fish. Steam and the PlayStation Vita were name-checked by the outspoken developer, while the 3DS is getting a definite pass. Despite the surface fit, Fish claims the handheld’s 3D capabilities wouldn’t do much for his game, despite its 2D to 3D shifting gimmick.
“People keep assuming Fez would be a no-brainer on 3DS, but in truth it would be kind of pointless. The game is practically always shown in isometric 3D, there’s never any perspective there. I don’t think it would work,” Fish explained.
“We’re working on that with Sony,” he also said about a PSn version. “Can’t say more than that right now.”
