Unfortunately all those Fallout fans that were hoping to use their new Apple iPhone 6 Plus smartphone with the highly anticipated Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition of the game and the included working Pip-Boy that is powered by Android and iOS smartphones and is now available to pre-order in limited quantities.
Will be disappointed to learn that the larger Apple iPhone 6 smartphone is not supported by the wrist worn device, Bethesda has confirmed this week.
As you can imagine pre-orders for the fantastic Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition are in huge demand and are selling out fast. Although Game UK will be selling a limited supply of Pip-Boy Editions today, Friday, July 3rd starting at 9a BST if you are quick. Bethesda writes:
We have new information on the phones compatible with the Pip-Boy Edition. The Pip-Boy included will have foam inserts that fit iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5, and Samsung Galaxy 4.
In addition, using the customizable foam insert you should be able to fit most other popular smartphone devices. As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device. For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available.
Our North American quantities for the Pip-Boy Edition are sold out. We are still working out details on final inventory for European territories and expect to have information early next week. As we receive new information, we’ll update in real-time on our Twitter account, @bethblog.
