Elkei Education has created a new range of kits that combine crafts and electronics for kids providing educational activities to teach the basics of electronics while creating a range of cool gadgets aimed at 8-12 year olds. The kit includes three printed felt layers, conductive thread, a snap-out circuit board, battery and all the craft materials you need to create a fun light up plush toy. Check out the video below to learn more about the kits and what they can be used to create.
“We’re making electronics kits that give young girls confidence with tech by laying down the foundations of circuits. These unplugged, crafting kits assume no prior knowledge and are a modern spin on the ‘pink aisle’ classics. We need more options to learn tech skills. Project-based kits are a great way to show how to work with circuits, how to troubleshoot and the possibilities of what you can create in a guided activity. This activity is aimed at 8-12 year olds.”
Earlybird pledges are now available and worldwide shipping is expected to take place during April 2020. For more details and a complete list of all available pledge options jump over to the official Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign page by following the link below.
“Each kit will also come with a collectable circuit board featuring awesome women in tech with an immersion gold finish. We’ve teamed up with some incredible Australian role models to promote the diversity of career paths that girls can follow. These include an astrophysicist, a biologist, an entrepreneurial plastics recycler, an environmental engineer and more. “
