This week Chromium OS tweaker Hexxeh has announced plans to develop and release builds of Chromium OS Vanilla for the new $35 Raspberry Pi computer very soon. The new Chromium OS will be able to be loaded onto an SD card, inserted into the new Raspberry Pi computer (when you can get your hands on one) and boot directly into the Google Chromium operating system.
Hexxeh already offers Chromium OS builds for computers with x86 chips and tools for installing the operating system on a USB flash drives using Windows, OS X, or Linux, jump over to his site for more details. After a few delays the mini $35 Raspberry Pi Computer has now finally started shipping and reports are coming in that orders for 350,000 have been placed by suppliers in preparation to provide waiting customers with their own.
