Bowers & Wilkins have today officially launched their very first pair of over-the-ear headphones which they have created in the form of the new Bowers & Wilkins P7 Headphones.
The P7 Headphones pads feature a dual cavity cushion design that helps the pads mould to the contours of the wearer’s head, say Bowers & Wilkins.
Bowers & Wilkins have created a headphone driver that is fitted in the P7 Headphones that works in a similar way to the drive unit of a hi-fi speaker, with a diaphragm focussed purely on the job it’s supposed to do, generate sound.
“With P7, everything is designed to allow you to lose yourself in music. Bass is tight, vocals are precisely defined, and there’s a wonderful sense of space, balance and clarity across the whole frequency range. At the same time, the over-ear design and snugly-fitting ear pads ensure you become completely immersed in your listening. Because when you’re hearing sound this good, you don’t want anything to interrupt your enjoyment.
As Bowers & Wilkins first over-the-ear headphones we were able to maximise P7’s acoustic properties. But we wanted to ensure P7 was wearable and portable, so thanks to an ingenious new folding mechanism using a highly durable stainless steel hinge, P7 folds up like a pair of sunglasses, and comes with a soft-cover carry case perfect for messenger bags or briefcases.”
The new Bowers & Wilkins P7 headphones will soon be available to purchases for $400 and will be arriving in sores towards the end of this month.
