The BMW i3 started life as a concept car back in 2011, it has now launched in the US, and is available with prices starting at $41,350 for the entry level model.
BMW designed the vehicle from the ground up, it is constructed using mainly carbon fiber, and it feature a 170 HP engine, and a lithium-ion battery.
“Today marks a big day at BMW of North America – What started out as a dream for an innovative sustainable vehicle under the BMW i brand can now be found on streets across the U.S.,” said Ludwig Willisch, President & CEO, BMW of North America.
The i3 has a top speed of 93 MPH, and it will give you a range of between 80 and 100 miles on a single charge, there is also a range extender version of the car which will retail for $45,200.
