Last week we heard a rumor about a new BlackBerry Android Phone and now we have some more details on the device. The first BlackBerry smartphone to come with Google’s Android OS is expected to launch in August.
There are rumors that BlackBerry will release an Android version of their new BlackBerry Slider smartphone which is codenamed Venice, although according to a recent report, the Venice may not be a BlackBerry Android Phone.
The guys over at N4BB have said that the first BlackBerry Android Phone will be an entry level device which is going to be targeted at emerging markets, the device is apparently codenamed ‘Prague’.
The BlackBerry Prague will apparently have a similar design to the BlackBerry Z3, although as yet we do not have any details on the specifications of the device.
What is not clear is how BlackBerry will implement Android on the handset, it is possible that the new BlackBerry Android Phone could have Android as the OS and then a UI which is similar to BlackBerry 10.
BlackBerry are expected to launch their first Android Phone some time in August, as soon as we get some more details on the device, including a full list of specifications and a release date for the handset, we will let you guys know.
