The BBC have just rolled out a new update to their BBC News Android application which has brought with it home screen widgets. You can now choose between large and small widgets and select which news categories you would like to view on the homepage for an at-a-glance look at the headlines.
Other features added in this latest update also include improved personalisation enabling you to now reorder the news categories to suit your preferences and the ability to store the app on the SD card.
Unfortunately if you do choose to use a SD card, widgets will not be available to you due to the restrictions of the Android OS. The new update also brings with it a new feature that allows you to send stories, video, and photos directly to the BBC News team.
You can download the BBC News Android application from the Android Market for free.
