At Computex 2018 this week Asus has unveiled a new laptop they have created in the form of the Asus ZenBook Pro 15 which comes equipped with a new touchscreen ScreenPad providing similar features of that offered by the Apple MacBook Pro Touch Bar. The Asus ZenBook Pro 15 ScreenPad measures 5.5 inches across and equipped with a display offering users a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Other features of the new laptop include a 15.6-inch 4K LCD display which also can be touchscreen and offers a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels LCD or 1080p depending on your requirements. Internally the laptop is powered by choice of Intel Core i9-8950HK or Core i7-8750H or Core i5-8300H supported by Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB with up to 16 GB RAM.
“The ScreenPad has a configurable toolbar at the top that can be dragged down to access the app launcher, which is also configurable with any installed application. ASUS has built-in support for popular professional applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and an included calendar app that syncs to a Windows calendar account.”
Connections on the laptop include 2x USB Type-A, 2x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C with Thunderbolt 3, 1x HDMI 1.4, MicroSD card reader and connectivity provided by support for 802.11ac Gigabit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5. A single charge of the 71Wh battery is capable of powering the laptop for up to 10 hours at a time. The Asus ZenBook Pro 15 with ScreenPad will be available to purchase next month, mid-July 2018 with prices starting from $2,299.
