At Computex this month Asus has taken the opportunity to unveil its new Thunderbolt add-in card for its PC motherboards, in the form of the ThunderboltEX PCIe card.
The ThunderboltEX PCIe card from Asus has been created to allow you to add Thunderbolt connectivity to your to combine Thunderbolt with a powerful graphics card. The card can also function without the DP port connection if required.
But functioning without the DP port connection, will only allow you to use regular Thunderbolt data transfers rather than Thunderbolt display connections.
The Asus ThunderboltEX PCIe card can be used with motherboards: P8Z77-V Deluxe, P8Z77-V, P8Z77-V LE, P8H77-V, Sabertooth Z77, P8Z77-V Pro, P8Z77-V LE Plus, P8-Z77-V LK, P8H77-M Pro and Maximus V Gene. The Asus ThunderboltEX PCIe card will be available to purchase from next for around $200.
