Apple is expected to release watchOS 5 for the Apple Watch later this year. Apple recently released a new beta of watchOS 4.3.1 and included in the beta is suggestions that some older apps may not work when Apple releases their next major version of watchOS later this year.
The latest watchOS beta now has a warning in it with some older apps which says that some apps may not work in the future. You can see the message that is displayed below.
‘This app will not work with future versions of watch OS. The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility.’
This message appears with certain apps and when you press the OK button the app will then run normally. We suspect that Apple will reveal some more details about this at their Worldwide Developer Conference in June.
