Earlier today we saw some speed tests of iOS 12 beta 9 vs iOS 11.4.1 and now we have another speed test.
The latest speed test video put the first beta of iOS 12 up against the latest beta, will there be any major speed improvements between the two.
As we can see from the video the new iOS 12 beta 9 booted up faster than the first beta of the software that Apple released.
Speed Improvements in iOS 12 Beta 9
There also appears to be a number of speed improvements in the various apps. For instance, apps like Safari, Mail, and Messages are noticeably quicker in launching and performing tasks. This is a significant enhancement, especially for users who rely heavily on these apps for daily activities. The smoother animations and transitions also contribute to a more fluid user experience.
Apple has been focusing on optimizing the performance of older devices with iOS 12. This means that even users with older iPhone models, such as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, should see a marked improvement in speed and responsiveness. This is a welcome change, as it extends the usability of older devices, allowing users to get more life out of their existing hardware.
Anticipated Features in the Final Release
Apple is expected to release the final version of the iOS 12 software some time next month along with their three new iPhone X handsets. The final release is anticipated to include several new features and enhancements that were not present in the beta versions.
One of the most talked-about features is the new Group FaceTime, which allows users to video chat with up to 32 people simultaneously. This feature is expected to revolutionize how people communicate, making it easier to stay connected with large groups of friends, family, or colleagues.
Another exciting feature is the improved Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities. With ARKit 2, developers can create more immersive and interactive AR experiences. This includes shared AR experiences, where multiple users can interact with the same AR environment from different devices. This has the potential to transform gaming, education, and various other fields.
Additionally, the new Screen Time feature will help users manage their device usage. It provides detailed reports on how much time is spent on different apps and allows users to set limits to reduce screen time. This is particularly useful for parents who want to monitor and control their children’s device usage.
The final release is also expected to include enhancements to Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant. Siri will become more proactive, offering suggestions based on user behavior and preferences. This includes shortcuts that allow users to perform complex tasks with simple voice commands.
The iOS 12 beta 9 shows promising improvements in speed and performance, particularly for older devices. The final release is eagerly anticipated, with several new features that are expected to enhance the overall user experience. Apple continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with mobile operating systems, and iOS 12 is shaping up to be one of their most significant updates yet.
