Apple has big plans for health and fitness tracking, the company recently announced Healthkit, which will launch with iOS 8 later this year, and is expected to feature in the Apple iWatch.
According to a recent patent filing that was discovered by Apple Insider, the iWatch may come with some sort of weight lifting tracker built in.
Apple were recently granted a patent for a device that can be attached to a weightlifting bar, the device apparently counts and displays repetitions.
What is also interesting is that included in the filing is details of a watch to display remote readings, this is a feature that could possibly launch with Healthkit and the Apple iWatch.
Apple are rumored to launch the iWatch with iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 in September, the device is said to feature a round or curved OLED display, wireless charging, and sapphire glass.
Apple are expected to launch a 1.3 inch version of the iWatch designed for women, and a 1.7 inch version of the device designed for men.
We are looking forward to what Apple will announce with the new iWatch, we suspect it could end up being a very popular device for Apple.
