Smart watches are expected to become very popular this year, there are a few on the market, although the ones most people are waiting for is either the Apple iWatch or the Moto 360.
According to a recent report by Morgan Stanley, sales of the Apple iWatch could reach as much as 60 million units in the first year.
It’s that loyalty and the so-called “halo effect,” Huberty writes, not the current watch market, that will drive sales of the unannounced product that she (like everybody else) is calling the iWatch.
Apple has a lot of loyal customers, an many of them will probably buy the new Apple iWatch when it is released later in the year, so sales of 60 million devices in the first year is quite possible for the company.
We have heard that there will be two version of the iWatch, one will apparently be designed for sports and fitness, and will feature an oblong display, the other is said to be a ‘designer’ version which may come with a round display.
There have also been rumors that the Apple iWatch will come with 8GB of included storage, and will function just like an iPod, meaning that people who use an iPod for training or sports will be able to use the iWatch instead.
The device is expected to focus heavily on fitness tracking, which will also be heavily integrated into iOS 8. We had previously heard the device would launch in September, although recent rumors have hinted that it may be later in the year.
