We had previously heard that the Apple iWatch and the 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch versions of the iPhone 6 would come with a sapphire display.
Now according to a recent report, the 4.7 inch version of the iPhone 6 will come with Gorilla Glass, and the 5.5 inch version of the handset along with the new Apple iWatch will come with sapphire glass.
The news comes from Apple suppliers in Taiwan, and all three devices are expected to launch by the end of the third quarter, which would mean that they would launch in September. We previously heard that the Apple iWatch and the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 would launch in September, and the 5.5 inch iPhone would launch in October.
Apple are said to be using Gorilla Glass for the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 due to lower than expected yields of sapphire glass, and the company is expected to ship 60 million of this handset before the end of the year.

The Apple iWatch will apparently come with an OLED display and sapphire glass, Apple has apparently put the release date of their new smartwatch back a number of times. The reason for this is the devices use of battery power, as Apple wants the iWatch to use no battery power when in standby.
The 5.5 iPhone 6 will apparently feature a sapphire glass display, this handset will be available in limited quantities at launch, and this is expected to continue with supply shortages of the device until the end of the year.
Apple are expected to release two versions of the Apple iWatch, one with a 1.7 inch display for men, the other with a 1.3 inch display for women.
As soon as we get some more details on the new Apple smartwatch, and also more details on both versions of the next generation iPhone, we will let you guys know.
