It’s been a while since Apple started their “Recycle and Reuse” program where customers can exchange their old iPhone for a gift card which can be used to purchased a newer model — it should be iPhone 3G or higher to be eligible.
According to a new report, the iPhone trade-in program is now available in Italy as well. Users trading in their old iPhone can get up to €220 (almost $300) and use it to purchase a new iPhone 5S, 5C or an iPhone 4S. It was revealed in the Italy Apple Store listings within the Apple Store App.
The program started in the US last year, and made its way to the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Canada, before heading out for Italy. Apple has also commenced the program for iPad, but there’s no word if it will be available in Italy at the moment.
It’s not just Italy, it’s also said to land in Australia as early as next week. The report further mentions that Apple has been training the Apple Store staff in Australia about the program over the last few days.
We’ll update you as soon as we get any information about the launch of the trade-in program in Australia. Stay tuned.
