Updated 10th September 2013
Apple has announced that Apple iOS 7 will be released on the 18th of September, more details here.
Yesterday we heard that the Apple iOS 7 release date for everyone is expected to be the 16th of September. There has been speculation that Apple would release iOS 7 after their event today, but this is unlikely to happen.
Before Apple releases iOS 7 for everyone, they have to release the final version for developers, this version is called Apple iOS 7 Gold Master (GM), and we are expecting Apple to release this today after the iPhone event.
Apple will announce a number of new devices at their iPhone event later today, which will include the new iPhone 5S and the new iPhone 5C, as yet we do not know what other device will be announced.
The iPhone 5C will be a cheaper version of the iPhone 5, that will come with similar specifications to the iPhone 5, although it will feature a plastic casing that will be available in a range of bright colors.
The iPhone 5S will be Apple’s flagship smartphone, it will, come with a new A7 processor, more RAM and improved graphics, plus a fingerprint scanner, NFC and a 12 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash.
Apple will be offering three different iPhone models with three different prices, the entry level model will be the iPhone 5C which is expected to retail for $449.
The middle iPhone model will be the existing iPhone 5 which is expected to retail for $549, and the top model will be the iPhone 5S which is expected to retail for $649.
The prices above are yet to be confirmed, and are our guess of what they will cost, based on the current models that Apple sells. We will have full details on the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C later today.
