When Apple launched the iPad yesterday they also added a new feature to iTunes, the iBook store which will let you download electronic books direct to the iPad from iTunes, and it may also be available for the iPhone and iPod in the future as well.
It looks like Apple’s iBook store will only be available in the US at launch, and it wont be available in the UK, Europe and rest of the world until later in the year.
The reason that the iBook store will only be available in the US when the iPad goes on sale, is because Apple needs to arrange deals with the publishers outside of the US.
There are no details on when the iBook Store will be available to the rest of the world, lets hope it isn’t very long after the iPad is available as this is one of its most attractive features.
